NATIONAL BACKGROUND
In May 9, 1938, The Spiritual Israel Church and
Its Army, was incorporated under the Kingship of Bishop William Dixon as a registered ecclesiastical corporation in the State of
Michigan with the signatures of thirty-five (35) church members. This was done to conform to the laws and regulations of the land. This however, was not the beginning of Israel’s existence as God’s people. This was the first incorporation of the church in the United States of America

LOCAL HISTORY
The Spiritual Israel Church and Its Army, Southern
California temple began in August of 1973 as a mission in the home of Elder Bride Mother Virdell. In August of 1979, a church was purchased at 15423 S. Butler Avenue in Compton CA. A year later in August of 1980 the church was dedicated.
In April 2009, Elder Virdell Mears retired as Pastor and Elder Alvin Mears Jr. became Pastor. In 2012, Elder Kenneth Page, Jr. was elevated to Assistant Pastor.
CHURCH CULTURE
The Compton temple is an intimate setting where the membership meet to elevate themselves, strengthen their connection to God and love and serve one another. With all small settings, the harvest is plenty and the workers are needed. As a result, we try to help one another build God's Kingdom one day at a time. Guest often comment on the loving nature and family feeling they get during their visit. You are welcome to our words, songs and love.
